Any qualified elector in Newfoundland and Labrador can choose to vote early. Early voting is available at every district office in the province. Applications can be submitted at any time, but voting cannot be completed until the close on nominations on Saturday, January 23, 2021 at 2 p.m. Early voting is done by special ballot. An application must be completed and identification that proves your name and address must be provided to the office staff. When the application is processed, the Special Ballot Officer will give you your special ballot voting kit, will explain how to complete it and will provide you with the names of candidates running in your district. You will go to the voting booth, complete your vote and place it in the secret ballot envelope. The Special Ballot Officer may then assist you in completing the rest of the process.

Early voting is also available at Elections NL’s headquarters at 39 Hallett Crescent in St. John’s. A Special Ballot Officer will help you through the same process outlined above.

Note: After a Special Ballot application has been processed and a voting kit has been issued, you are struck from the voters list and are considered to have voted, regardless of whether or not you complete and return your ballot. You cannot vote at the Advance Poll or on Election Day.
