Voter Registration

Getting added to the Voters List is easy! You can register online, by mail or email between elections, or in person when you go to vote. Voters on the list will receive a mailed Voter Information Card when an election is called.

To be added to the Voters List you must be:

  • a Canadian citizen,
  • at least 18 years old on election day, and
  • a resident of Newfoundland and Labrador the day before polling day

Online Vote Registration Service:

Register online to be added to the Voters List, update your address, or check to see if you are registered.

To register online or make any changes to your address through this service you must provide valid identification.

Register by email or mail:

You can register by mail or email by downloading the Add, Update, or Remove Your Name from the Voters List (VR-21) form from our Forms and Guides section.

You can also contact us by phone, toll-free or locally, at 1 (877) 729-7987 or by e-mail (voterslist@electionsnl.ca) to determine if you are on the Voters List.

At the polling station:

At the poll, an eligible elector may vote even if their name is not on the voters list. The elector must take an oath and provide identification that proves the elector is a resident of the district on polling day.
